Work and Inspiration

Occasionally in the history of arts, an artist emerges and through a process of intuitive alchemy with a blending of past influences, to reveal a new landscape of creative possibilities. By nature Joseph is able to  update and melt his own influences. He took his visual flair from modern and contemporary art, and is greatly inspired by the 1960s, 1970s,1980s and 1990s art movements. At an early age, art monopolized his attention, to the extent that he devoted more time to it than anything. He carefully studied Pop art, Word art, Conceptual art, installation art, abstract art, surrealism and realism to name a few. His love for art history and movements can be seen throughout his work. When Post-Modernism started in 2000, Joseph received his Certificate of Fine Arts.  In 2001, he started studying post modern art concepts intensively and received his Post Baccalaureate. With perseverance, he received his Master of Fine Arts with great knowledge and he had a strong understanding of art and the direction he had to take. Joseph 's style was born of years of frustration, trying to find an approach for the artistic fire wall in his mind, dreams, images and visions. When he found himself his paintings became eclectic. A mixture of past style wonderfully arranged. As he digresses graciously, there is a feel of collage, surrealism, minimalist geometric and black minimalist to his paintings. Joseph, art requires the viewers to  add their own interpretations for the meaningful stimulation of mind rather then  absolutes, they are all about  responsive consciousness.  Joseph paintings are bold, bright and instantly recognizable by combining hard edge painting with abstract an realism. Post-modernism is a language and attitude which Joseph speaks gracefully.
